Money

Money is a useful commodity in Life as a Boy. It allows you to buy all sorts of clothing items, accessories, food, and certain upgrades that can be useful to your boy.

There are sevaral ways to obtain money in the game:

  • Completing your chores
    • After completing your chores, head to your father's bedroom to collect your allowance from him. You will receive $20 each week.
  • Odd Jobs
    • Odd Jobs can be accepted at the Community Centre. They will refresh every day. Each job will give you different amounts of money, but it is no less than $5 and no more than $25.
  • Exploring the Empty Lot in Dellwood
    • When exploring the empty lot in Dellwood, there is a 10% chance that you will find $1 snagged on one of the bushes there.
  • Helping a certain young boy who fell in the park
    • When playing in the City Park between 0700H and 2000H, there is s 1-in-6 chance that you will encounter a boy who tripped. Choosing to help the boy will initiate a cute and slightly lewd scene, and at the end, the boy's father will hand you $5 "For the trouble."
  • Jogging in Northend
    • When jogging in northend, there's a 5% chance that you will bump into an old woman who dropped a $5bill. You can either choose to keep the money, or return it to the woman.
      • Take the money: You gain $5 (naughty boy!)
      • Give it back: This scene can play out in one of 3 ways with a 1-in-3 chance for each outcome:
        • Get $10 in return
        • Get a big wet smooch
        • Get scolded (what a karen)
  • Betting with Lucas in the School Playground
    • When swinging with Lucas in the School Playground, you can choose to make it interesting and bet $1 to see who lands the furthest. Beware, as this can also make you lose $1!
  • Finding a penny in the School Playground
    • When playing in the School Playground, there is a 1-in-12 chance that you will find a penny on the ground. There are 3 outcomes to this:
      • No one appears: You get $1!
      • Lucas appears: You can choose use the money to share a soda with him, or keep the money for yourself.
      • Carter appears: You can choose to go on a quest to find its rightful owner with Carter, or keep the money for yourself.
  • Bullying Noah (you monster!)
    • After finding Noah's missing toy and returning it to him, you can demand half of his allowance which amounts to $10. Please ask for a kiss instead.
  • Tutoring the spoiled brat (the undies are a nicer prize)
    • When tutoring in the Community Center, there is a 1-in-3 chance that you will get a spoiled brat. Some stuff happens and he offers you $20 to complete his homework. If you choose to do it for money, you will gain $20.
