This is America the land of opportunity. It's a country where being born without privilege, money or station, can be overcome, with good choices, hard work, a never-give-up attitude and a little wisdom. Some come to us from other lands to be a part of what is great about America. To become chu dau tu du an iris garden American and be assured the right to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness.

I don't remember reading anywhere a GUARANTEE of happiness when I took history, government and civics. I do, however, remember studying about governments that see to it that all their people have food (can't vouch for the taste, or quantity), shelter, medical care, education and a small amount of money left over to pay their personal expenses. They had life, but many of the people from those countries paid a price in the loss of their personal liberty. They dared not openly criticize their government the way some of us criticize ours for fear of their life. I also don't remember reading about any pursuit of happiness.

My only point here is to challenge one to realize that anything is possible in our country, but choices have to be made. We must consider the direction of so many areas in our life, but we must consider them none the less. We are so fortunate to have choices, I simply can't imagine why some of us would want to sit around and complain about plant closures and the price of gas and trying to assign blame, when they could be researching opportunities for investments, small or home-based businesses, or maybe even coming up with great inventions or ideas for a whole new way to create wealth. So what, we lost a job, how much did we really love it? Did we only love the "security" we thought we had? That steady paycheck that came every week or so, for the same amount regardless of the hours and effort we put in. It couldn't be the benefits, as benefit packages in most companies dwindled way before our job did. There are thousands of people just like us, down, out, in debt, jobless.....and thousands more who strived to get to this land of opportunity, where they heard that dreams could chu dau tu iris garden come true. They come from places where milk isn't sold by the gallon, but by the cup, and receiving a full glass of anything is unheard of. They come from places where chu dau tu du an iris garden entire family, including grandma, grandpa, unmarried aunts and uncles all live in a one room apartment or hut.

I once met a man who came to this country with less than $100.00 in his pocket, he barely knew English and was difficult to understand. He sold newspapers to get enough money to send back to his family still living in another country. He became an American citizen. He was presented with an opportunity to PURSUE happiness, and took it. Still with broken English, this man built a small home-based business and is now a top earner (millionaire status) with a well-known, MLM.

Another man, I once heard speak, a "white-collar" professional, lost his position in the firm where he spent years working very hard earning what he thought was a good living. Close to losing everything, he began to think, hey that little business opportunity an acquaintance showed me, what if I worked that for 40 hours a week, if I could make that work, I'd never have to report to a boss again. That day the man made a decision. He is among the elite earners in that home-based business opportunity and is in demand all over the world, to speak and mentor.

These guys didn't complain about the government not giving them enough, they didn't use excuses, and they would not be defeated. They made a decision to walk a road less traveled, but acted purely on a notion that life could be greater than they ever imagined. There are plenty of opportunities to be happy out there. So how about deciding to PURSUE them.
