Chores​

Chores are a type of quest in Life as a Boy. As as child of a single father, you have a responsibility to help with some of the household chores. Each week, your father will post a list of chores for you and your brothers to do.

There are 6 different chores that are split into 3 sections. Each week, you will have 1 chore from each section.

Outdoor Chores

Outdoor Chores:

• Mow Lawn​
  • You need to Mow the Front Lawn.​
  • Mowing takes an hour and costs -5 Energy.​
  • There are 4 outcomes to mowing the lawn​
    • Normal: 50% chance of happening.​
    • Positive: 25% chance of happening, will reduce stress by -1.​
    • Negative: 25% chance of happening. There are 2 negative events each with a 50% chance of happening.​
      • Sprinklers: You get blasted by sprinklers giving you the Wet Moodlet.​
      • Pants ripped off: Your pants get ripped off. Depending on whether you are wearing underwear or not, the scene will play out a little differently. This outcome leads to unlocking the Exhibitionism skill if not yet unlocked.​
• Pull Weeds​
  • You need to Pull Weeds growing in the Back Yard.​
  • Pulling Weeds takes an hour and costs -5 Energy.​
  • There are 2 outcomes to pulling weeds​
    • Normal: 50% chance of happening.​
    • Negative: 50% chance of happening, will increase stress by +1.​

Easy Chores

Easy Chores:

• Vacuum
  • You need to Vacuum the Living Room.
  • Vacuuming takes 15 minutes and doesn't cost any Energy.
  • There are 2 outcomes to vacuuming
    • Normal: 50% chance of happening.
    • Wedgie: 50% chance of happening. You trip accidentally and get wedgied by the vacuum. This outcome will give you the Wedgie moodlet.
• Laundry
  • You need to clean the Laundry at the washing machine in the Kitchen. Then take it outside and hang it to dry.
  • Doing the laundry comes in 2 parts, washing the clothes which takes 10 minutes, and hanging up the clothes in the backyard which takes 15 minutes. Neither takes up any energy.
  • There's only 1 outcome to doing the Laundry.
• Take Out Trash
  • You need to Take out the Trash in the Kitchen
  • Taking out the trash takes 5 minutes and doesn't cost any Energy.
  • There are 5 outcomes to taking out the trash
    • Normal: 75% chance of happening.
    • Negative: 25% chance of happening, the trash bag rips and dumps trash all over you causing you to lose -20 Hygiene.
    • Exposed: Ignores the Normal and Negative outcome if you are wearing only undies or a towel.
      • Undies: This outcome leads to unlocking the Exhibitionism skill if not yet unlocked
      • Towel: 50% chance your towel gets ripped off by a passing car. If it does, then it will lead to unlocking the Exhibitionism skill if not yet unlocked. Otherwise, your boy will just go about his usual day slightly embarrassed.

Hard Chores

Hard Chores:

• Mop
  • You need to Mop the Kitchen and both Bathrooms.
  • To complete, you need to mop the Kitchen, the Bathroom, and your father's Bathroom.
  • Each time you mop, it takes 10 minutes or 15 minutes depending on the outcome.
  • There are 2 outcomes to mopping regardless of location.
    • Normal: 90% chance of happening. Takes 10 minutes and doesn't cost any Energy.
    • Trip over bucket: 10% chance of happening, you trip over the bucket and spill water all over yourself, giving you the Wet moodlet. Takes 15 minutes and doesn't cost any Energy.

As a reward for completing your weekly chores, your father will give you a weekly allowance of $20. You may then go to your father's bedroom to collect your allowance.

Failing to complete your chores will get you in trouble with your father, so make sure you complete them!
