for beginners to modding and AAF:
1)AAF/AIO by itself and left alone. no addons/no updated mods related to the AAF/AIO. works out of box, just need custom playable children, common children framework, common children repack for kids' nude bodies including character if you want to play as one. just need female adult nude body mod as male adult nude body is included in AAF/AIO. cbp mod from nexus by itself, ignore all other "required"addon mods to it will give you female wiggles and jiggles (physics).
my defence for most using aaf aio instead of mod by mod AAF setup
AAF/AIO packs 20 mods together as one mod order spot vs 20 separate mod order spots for aaf mod by mod. AAF/AIO works out of box vs aaf mod by mod might work at first. AAF/AIO has kids tagged as kids, adults tagged as adults, most animations are aligned for kid/adult sex already vs aaf mod by mod shows kids as adult and animations will not be aligned ,so 50% of animations will not be useable (look like crap) AAF/AIO has special effects, sounds, cum squirt action vs aaf mod by mod needing at least 6 more mods added to do same. AAF/AIO has more kid/adult sex action than aaf mod by mod. AAF/AIO need not be updated to work if left alone vs aaf mod by mod being affected everytime AAF or mod pack might be updated, often adding nothing extra of absolute needed value to gameplay..

for folks familiar with modding, troubleshooting, and AAF by the numbers: 1)totally ignore the loverslab install. adds layers and mods you do not need. ignores patches and mods that work fine with AAF because of bias and politics.

1A) AAF latest or near latest. 2A)mod configuration menu. 3A)looks menu 4A)looks menu customization compendium (optional) 5A)looks menu CC for CPC (optional) 6A)bodyslide/outfit studio 7A)male nude body with morphable penis (bodytalk) build in bodyslide, set erection at 0. 8A)female nude body (fusion girl, cbbe, evb, wonder body) i have used them all at one time. 9A)CBP by itself will give wiggles and jiggles to female breasts and ass-ets. 10A)ZAZ extended skeleton (needed for fusion girl and body talk for morphable penis mechanics) 11A)AAF creature resources (needed for animal, super mutant, creature penises) 12A)AAF vanilla,kinky,creature animation-themes (needed for tags to set up animations) 13A)animation packs: whatever you want, as many as you want. 14A)release creature pack 15A)release creature pack dlc 16A)release nsfw soundpack (these 3 offer creature animations and sounds) remember any added requirements for the above mods. if not sure, ask?
bonus mods to add immersiveness(optional)
barefoot footsteps extended 4k hairy men nude (textures for bodytalk and others) neck gap fix (seems to work for seams) additional body textures (makes nude ghouls look better)
above should get you started in aaf sex using the aaf home key menu to start sex. if aaf does not load and gets stuck at a certain percentage, look at what you did wrong and double check. some older animation packs may no longer work with current aaf, but i have used all of them, recent.
kids sex AAF!

AAF AIO includes AAF/ child patch, sex em up/ child patch, violate/ child patch, just business/ child patch, family planning/ child patch, all animation packs/ child alignment, child/adult sex programed.
AAF mod by mod would need the original mods, appropriate child patches, and any add-ons needed to support the mods.
you need to choose how sex happens? random sex where a mod has npcs come to you or manual where you walk up to them? some setups can have both, dependant on mod options.
you should choose whether you want sex bells and whistles. cum applications, cum squirts, and sound effects? AAF AIO has them built in. AAF mod by mod requires separate mods and any add-ons. these mod choices are the main reason why aaf might stick and not load or not work at all. think out what you want in game by testing aaf without these choices first. you can add them later.
